Tips On Being An Effective Teacher

Many people have been commenting that they’d like more helpful teaching advice and fewer angry rants from me.  When I started writing this blog, that was the main point, and most of my earlier posts were just that.  So what I’ve done is create a ‘category’ of teaching advice so new CMs can be more efficient with their time and not have to sift through the nearly 100 posts in the archive.

I for one come here for the angry rants.

    Gary,

Our teachers are always asking for more help/advice with assessment. I’d love to see a post where you explain your formal and informal assessments and how you incorporate those assessments into your planning.

Is it just me or are all the links broken? They don’t go to a URL, but to a comcast (my search provider) list. It’s really annoying; I thought the links were broken at first, but now I just think it’s the way you do the links.

Hmmm. They work for me. Sometimes they are working on this site and that happens. Try again and let me know if it still isn’t working for you and I’ll put up the links another way.

Okay, that’s extremely weird. I type in your URL directly all the time and it works fine. But The Projectionist URL autofills to a Page Not Found, no matter what.

I just tried it with Miss Bennett by the Bay, a blog I read sometimes. Before I used your link, I typed in part of the URL into my browser, it autofilled and I got there with no problem. Then I used your link (it’s in the comments section of High Expectations), and I got Page Not Found (a page from Comcast, my service provider). Now, no matter what I try, I can’t go directly to that site. It’s like your link not only doesn’t work, but screws up any attempt to get to that site. I imagine I could fix it by closing down the browser and starting again, but it’s pretty annoying.
